The company drives revenue through direct equipment sales and comprehensive instructor training programs, supplemented by educational resources. Its differentiators include a long history (nearing six decades), extensive intellectual property (28 US patents and foreign patents), a craftsmanship-driven approach, and a commitment to reducing environmental impact, which together help it serve Pilates studios, instructors, and enthusiasts worldwide. New Learning Management System hits the Pilates Education world.

New Learning Management System hits the Pilates Education world. By Dylan Wong April 10, 2026 4 Mins Read Balanced Body Education launched its new Learning Management System: CLARA on April 1. CLARA will play an integral role in Balanced Body Education's ecosystem and serves as a one-stop-shop for students during and after the completion of the Instructor Training courses. Students will be able to access their digital manuals, videos, and supplementary course material all through this one platform. Balanced Body's Instructor Training curriculum is unique in the Pilates Teacher Training market because of its modular approach. Students can pursue their certification step-by-step, similar to taking a 101, 201, 301 course in university, rather than having to commit to a full certification program today. While this approach creates flexibility for any student's schedule, life situation, and learning needs, it poses a challenge: new sets of materials for each course. A student pursuing a comprehensive education would then need to manage 11 sets of materials accumulated over 1-2 years. Educators would have to distribute some of these learning materials too. CLARA relieves this burden at both ends by creating one organized, central place for all course resources to live and be accessed anytime, anywhere. The company sees the launch as much more than just a convenient storage solution. CLARA comes with a built-in community space and live streaming features that pave the way for meaningful learning experiences and intentional support beyond the classroom. The platform allows for the formation of Groups, similar to the Groups feature on Facebook, which opens the door for Pilates Instructors around the globe to connect, form bonds, and learn from each other. With thousands of students going through Balanced Body's curriculum every year, students are now patched into a learning community that goes beyond their Educator's studio. CLARA will make it easier to maintain connection to other Balanced Body trained professionals whose expertise they can trust if they ever need support in the future. This community focus enriches the certification experience so instructors can become the trusted guide that clients rush to rebook with. It also activates an extensive alumni network so Balanced Body instructors can pull from a deep pool of expertise, which is a huge advantage over instructors trying to learn everything by themselves. Balanced Body also plans to use CLARA to provide Continued Education opportunities to students and the broader Pilates community. In the past, attaining such credits often required a trip out of town. With CLARA these opportunities will come straight to you. Imagine being able to expand your Pilates education and learning with courses from the biggest names in Pilates while at your favorite coffee shop, or joining a live, virtual workshop to practice new skills on your home reformer. This accessibility will allow anyone interested in Pilates to stay on the cutting edge of the industry and remain leaders in Pilates studios everywhere. It's these community and live interaction features that make CLARA so revolutionary for the Pilates Education industry - and what makes CLARA such an apt name for the platform. Joy, Director of Education at Balanced Body, explains the significance of the name CLARA and her vision for how the system will change the landscape of Pilates education. "Ken Endelman, CEO of Balanced Body, gave our LMS the name CLARA after Clara Pilates. What a perfect name, as CLARA is to students what Clara Pilates was to the Pilates Method. Clara Pilates' care fostered confidence and support for the instructors and clients that came to the studio on 8th Avenue in Manhattan. CLARA the platform is a community learning space intended to inspire curiosity as it supports your education needs." She went on to say, "Just as Clara was known to make the Pilates system accessible and approachable, CLARA the learning experience is designed to meet your education needs while also providing a space for instructors to engage in professional development, conversation, and business strategy and sharing." While many cheer on CLARA as a movement into the modern age, some are having trouble with the shift away from hard copy materials. "It's just not the same" some students have said. To these folks, Joy says, "I like paper too - my office used to be covered in sticky notes because I like things to be physical. It's probably a big reason why we held on to paper manuals for so long. But the benefits here outweigh the costs." For those who want paper manuals, that is still an option - they will be able to order a hard copy of the course manual at the time of registration for an additional fee. CLARA is currently only available to those taking Balanced Body Instructor Training courses. For those that register for courses, access to the platform is granted 1-2 business days after registration. Dylan Wong. Dylan is the Education Marketing Coordinator at Balanced Body and the co-founder of the Revitalize Wellness Center (holistic health practice). As a former collegiate soccer player, a current Crossfit enthusiast, and a fan of any board or water sport, Dylan enjoys Pilates as a way to support all his other activities. His experience as an educator in nutrition and holistic health for his clients makes him well suited to help its Education team with their mission to train excellent Pilates instructors.
