Requirements
  • Previous experience in traffic control, sign installation, or a related field is a plus.
  • Must pass pre-employment background checks for criminal record, driving record, and controlled substance or drug testing.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record; a commercial driver's license is preferred.
  • Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
  • Ability to read and write and read plans.
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors around moving traffic, fumes, and airborne particles and in moderate to loud noise.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work Monday through Friday, including some nights and weekends, and work overtime.
  • Must be able to travel with the company when necessary.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver, set up, and install traffic-control equipment and signage to ensure the safety of the traveling public.
  • Drive the Management of Traffic vehicle to and from projects and on the work site.
  • Place temporary construction signs in the work area.
  • Place arrow boards or variable message boards in the work area.
  • Place traffic cones and other traffic-safety devices in the work area.
  • Perform flagging duties as required by the contractor.
  • Check the work zone throughout the shift to ensure items remain in their proper locations.
  • Pick up traffic-control items at the beginning and end of the shift and load them into the truck.
  • Drive the Truck Mounted Attenuator vehicle to and from projects and on the work site to protect workers and the work zone.
  • Perform shop work, including general maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Inspect trucks before and after use.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspection forms and ensure equipment is in working order.
  • Maintain the safety equipment and uniform required for each job.
