- Previous experience in traffic control, sign installation, or a related field is a plus.
- Must pass pre-employment background checks for criminal record, driving record, and controlled substance or drug testing.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record; a commercial driver's license is preferred.
- Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
- Ability to read and write and read plans.
- Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 to 100 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors around moving traffic, fumes, and airborne particles and in moderate to loud noise.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work Monday through Friday, including some nights and weekends, and work overtime.
- Must be able to travel with the company when necessary.
- Deliver, set up, and install traffic-control equipment and signage to ensure the safety of the traveling public.
- Drive the Management of Traffic vehicle to and from projects and on the work site.
- Place temporary construction signs in the work area.
- Place arrow boards or variable message boards in the work area.
- Place traffic cones and other traffic-safety devices in the work area.
- Perform flagging duties as required by the contractor.
- Check the work zone throughout the shift to ensure items remain in their proper locations.
- Pick up traffic-control items at the beginning and end of the shift and load them into the truck.
- Drive the Truck Mounted Attenuator vehicle to and from projects and on the work site to protect workers and the work zone.
- Perform shop work, including general maintenance and repair of equipment.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Inspect trucks before and after use.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspection forms and ensure equipment is in working order.
- Maintain the safety equipment and uniform required for each job.
- A commercial driver's license is preferred.
