Work Shift: 3 X 12 hrs. Days, Nights, Weekends may be required

Work Location: University of Miami Hospital & Clinics - Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) UTower

• The University of Miami Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Certified Nursing Assistant.
• The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a certified professional that fulfills the need of patient care in the hospital.
• Through collaborative efforts with members of the interdisciplinary team, the CNA performs various duties under the direction of the nurse, charge nurse and/or unit director or designee.
• The CNA performs various duties and observes the patients’ conditions and reports to the nurse.
• Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a Current Florida C.N.A. and BLS (CPR) certification.
• One (1) year of patient care experience in a Acute Care (Hospital) setting preferred. Any combination of experience, education and/or certifications will be considered.

Patient safety is a top priority. As a result, during the Influenza ("the flu") season (September through April), the University Of Miami School Of Medicine requires all employees who provide ongoing services to patients, work in a location (all Hospitals and clinics) where patient care is provided, or work in patient care or clinical care areas, to have an annual influenza vaccination. CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
 

Certification and Licensing:
Certification in relevant specialty or field
 

Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

•Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
•Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
•Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
•Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

•Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office)
