Major League Baseball

View

Major League Baseball (MLB) is the premier professional baseball league in the United States and Canada, featuring 30 independent teams. The league generates revenue primarily through media rights, ticket sales, sponsorships, and merchandise. MLB secures substantial income from national and local television broadcasting deals, which are crucial for its financial health. Ticket sales from live games also contribute significantly, with attendance varying by team. Additionally, MLB partners with various corporations for sponsorships, which can include stadium naming rights and official league sponsors. Merchandise sales, such as jerseys and caps, further enhance the league's revenue. To promote competitive balance, MLB employs a revenue-sharing system that helps distribute income more evenly among teams.
