- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief is preferred.
- Prior experience conducting boundary and topographic surveys is required.
- Experience with ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, construction staking, and Carlson SurvCE is preferred.
- Working knowledge of data collectors, robotic total stations, GPS equipment, and digital levels.
- A valid driver’s license is required because the position requires driving.
- Strong math skills and attention to detail.
- Experience preparing detailed field notes and sketches.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and appropriately prioritize workflow.
- Ability to work a regular Monday–Thursday schedule from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with occasional overnight travel.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical activity in a wide range of temperatures and outdoor environments.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to climb hills and walk long distances across varied terrain.
- Ability to traverse wooded areas, construction sites, and undeveloped land.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to work in environments that may contain venomous snakes and insects.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Lead and direct a survey crew of two or more team members on a variety of field assignments.
- Perform and oversee boundary, topographic, construction staking, and other survey types.
- Operate survey equipment including robotic total stations, GPS equipment, data collectors, and levels.
- Ensure the accuracy and quality of field data, notes, and sketches.
- Make field decisions and provide direction to crew members to ensure efficient project execution.
- Coordinate daily with project managers and office staff to meet project scope, schedule, and quality goals.
- Maintain and transport survey equipment safely and ensure its proper operation in the field.
- Communicate project status and field updates regularly.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief.
- Experience with ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, construction staking, and Carlson SurvCE.
