Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in people operations
- Experience with companies operating in multiple countries
- Strong working knowledge of each of the major HR functional areas
- Experience in an early-stage startup company, fast-growing company, or a very small HR team with a wide mandate
- Experience with cross-border employment and payroll related issues
- The ability to manage payroll for entities across several countries
- The ability to quickly learn new tools as needed and solve new problems continuously
- A high degree of independence and the ability to work effectively with limited supervision
- Enthusiasm for working as an individual contributor in a fast-changing environment
- Enjoyment in working with people in a wide variety of disciplines and in different parts of the world
- Interest in contributing broadly to the success of the company and eager to pitch in where needed
- A sense of humor and a propensity to focus mainly on the few things that matter most
Responsibilities
- Onboarding: Smoothly take new employees from accepted offers to effective integration with the company, including payroll & benefits, immigration matters
- Performance Management: Coordinate performance reviews company-wide, including 360 feedback
- Benefits: Annually review and select benefit plans, propose and oversee employee leave policies, and assist employees as needed
- Cross Border Employment: Understand requirements for visas and work permits for employee travel and track global travel for payroll allocations
- Compliance: Become knowledgeable about relevant employment laws and regulations in the jurisdictions where we operate and help ensure that we comply with them
- New Jurisdictions: When we expand to new countries, figure out anything needed to employ our first person in a new country
- Culture: Create opportunities to build and strengthen our culture of insight and discovery
- Company Policies: Review, update and communicate company policies to employees and oversee employee training
- Other Operations: Help out broadly with operational matters across the company, from day-to-day matters to special projects
