Requirements
  • The candidate must be at least 21 years of age.
  • The candidate must pass the required drug test.
  • The candidate must hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
  • The candidate must pass a Department of Transportation physical and road test.
  • The candidate must follow Department of Transportation regulations.
  • The candidate must be able to load and unload trailers using powered industrial trucks or special conveying equipment, including coupling and uncoupling 20-foot hoses weighing up to 45 pounds.
  • The candidate must adhere to all environmental, health, and safety requirements and company safety policies and procedures.
  • The candidate must achieve independent certification to operate manufacturing production equipment within four months of hire.
  • The candidate must have personal-computer skills, including email, data entry, and system navigation.
  • The candidate must be able to perform unit conversions, such as linear inches to linear yards and square yards.
  • The candidate must be able to use basic measurement tools such as tape measures and rulers.
  • The candidate must be able to lift 60-pound shafts, maneuver 400-pound rolls, and pack or palletize cartons weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • The candidate must be capable of producing all products to the standard rate.
  • The candidate must be capable of retrieving and applying quality information and complying with quality-management-system policies and procedures.
  • The candidate must demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.
  • The candidate must demonstrate commitment to assigned tasks.
  • The candidate must be willing to share input to improve manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
  • Operate a tractor-trailer combination on short-haul routes.
  • Work five days per week plus overtime as needed.
  • Follow and comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Operate manufacturing equipment, load rolls, and perform changeovers.
  • Adjust the production process to meet quality standards.
  • Perform quality checks and collect quality data as required.
  • Enter production quantities and material usage into Syteline.
  • Participate on the process-improvement team.
  • Participate in lean-manufacturing improvement workshops and training events.
  • Perform other assigned or directed production-related duties.
  • Adhere to the company’s safety, environmental, and quality standards.
