About the Role

Miro is looking for a practical, motivated and energetic Senior Product & Privacy Counsel to join our growing Global Legal team. In this position, you will help Miro build, implement and scale a best in class product counseling program that enables Miro to develop, build and evolve innovative products and services while supporting and nurturing trust in the company’s data practices. This position reports directly to Miro’s Head of Privacy.

What you’ll do

• Position Miro’s legal team as a strategic collaboration partner and trusted risk adviser with product and engineering teams
• Drive stakeholder awareness on legal risks regarding product design and go-to-market strategy, including with respect to data protection, intellectual property, and product liability
• Develop effective training and guidelines that help stakeholders identify and address legal risk as they emerge in the product development lifecycle and effectively apply a repeatable new product introduction process
• Implement data protection, compliance and ethics by design principles with product and engineering teams
• Provide practical legal advice and risk guidance on product proposals, designs, features and go-to-market strategy
• Build and enhance legal and compliance processes and support data protection and AI governance

What you’ll need

• 6+ years of product counseling experience, preferably in-house with legal or compliance function at a SaaS or technology company 
• Experience advising business, product and/or engineering teams on legal, regulatory, and compliance risks relating to the development and sale of technology products and services
• Experience and comfort working with and engaging with product and engineering teams on technical topics related to data protection, intellectual property and product liability
• Ability to convey complex legal concepts in simple terms and to translate legal advice into actionable guidance for innovative product and business teams
• Ability to build strong internal and external relationships to effectively implement key initiatives and nurture collaboration
• Ability to drive projects, identify and resolve legal and business issues with practical business judgment and intellectual creativity 
• Ability to prioritize and to solve complex problems with an analytical, evidence-based  mindset
• Ability to convey complex issues and legal guidance orally and in writing
• Comfortable in ambiguous, unstructured, rapid-paced environments
• Dependable, patient, and trustworthy
• EU, UK or US attorney license
