  • Certified Public Accountant or international equivalent
  • 15+ years experience (Software or Hardware or other Technology) with a mix of Big 4 public accounting and public company industry experience
  • Experience as a Corporate Controller, Assistant Controller, or a Director level position in accounting at a multi-billion dollar market capitalization publicly traded company
  • Systems implementation and process automation experience; must be systems savvy with an early adopter mindset
  • Experience scaling a high growth technology company to meet changing business needs
  • Demonstrated experience with various metrics and leveraging data, with focus on data integrity; and
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Lead the Corporate Accounting team, developing, coaching and mentoring a high-performing team of accounting professionals
  • Define and align team goals with company priorities and values; build morale and motivation. Hold self and team accountable to maintaining established company standards
  • Be responsible for day-to-day operational accounting, general ledger and consolidation activities
  • Lead all aspects of financial close; maintain a comprehensive close checklist reflective of all close tasks, manage the close calendar, oversee the completion of all close tasks on time and without error, resolve issues timely and in advance of close where possible, identify inefficiencies and implement solutions to improve close process, hold yourself accountable and individual team members accountable to assigned close tasks
  • Prepare budget vs actual analysis on a monthly/quarterly basis to ensure results are accurate
  • Develop repeatable and scalable checks and balances over financial statement accounts and individual transactions to ensure issues identified and resolved timely
  • Lead the design, implementation and documentation of scalable processes and controls; partner with the technical accounting and internal audit teams to create or update accounting policies
  • Develop and maintain communication channels and processes with other Finance and business teams to ensure business activities are communicated timely to the Accounting team, collaborating as necessary to ensure matters are assessed and accounted for accurately and within the correct period
  • Work with cross functional teams to identify problems, process gaps and propose reasonable and creative solutions to improve processes including opportunities for automating manual processes
  • Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, industry best practices, and other considerations to foster and maintain a high level of trust in the Accounting team
  • Responsible for interacting and coordinating with internal and external auditors and maintain proper documentation to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley and quarterly audit requirements; and
  • Support audits and external reporting requirements (year-end audit, interim audit, quarterly reviews, SOX, Internal Audit, SEC Reporting, etc.)
  • Manage tax and treasury functions until a Treasury team is formed
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with NetSuite and direct implementation experience of a post-NetSuite ERP system; and
  • Cost accounting, revenue accounting or other technology focused accounting subject matter expertise
