Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • 4-8 years of corporate law experience at a law firm, government, and/or in-house
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Understanding of the key legal issues germane to an organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-lawyers
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, both legal and non-legal
Responsibilities
  • Provide corporate law legal advice to cross-functional stakeholders and senior leaders
  • Prepare and review relevant company policies and procedures
  • Advise on various compliance initiatives
  • Assist with corporate governance of GEICO and its subsidiaries
  • Oversee compliance with applicable laws and regulations and conduct legal research and analysis
  • Communicate with state and local regulatory bodies
  • Manage outside counsel

  • Experience with sanctions, compliance, treasury, licensing and/or regulatory matters
  • Experience in subsidiary entity governance
