Requirements
  • B.A/B.S. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or related field with at least 2 years of relevant work experience or M.S
  • 2+ years development experience in Python, including but not limited to experience with Conda, package development, benchmarking/optimizing performance, code data wrangling and visualization libraries (e.g. pandas, matplotlib)
  • Basic-to-intermediate statistics knowledge with the ability to efficiently execute root cause analysis, exploratory data analysis, and data summarization
  • Experience using git, participating in code review, and software development best practices
Responsibilities
  • Support and develop our algorithms running in Production systems that serve various business applications by developing automated validation processes to uncover issues, responding to support requests, investigating potential issues, implementing fixes/improvements, and summarizing findings and recommendations to Engineering, Product, and Science stakeholders
  • Continuously improving our processes and tooling to develop, deploy, maintain Production software (e.g. benchmarking/improving code performance, improving CI/CD pipelines, ensuring adequate testing, dependency management for our packages)
  • Perform root cause analysis of our agronomic vector data as a part of validating our software. Analyze and communicate unexpected behaviors of our algorithms by understanding how minute variations in the data affect results
  • Collaborate/coordinate with members of your team and outside teams with varied backgrounds to deliver and support our software as a part of larger highly interconnected efforts
  • Communicate complex technical information to peers, business partners, and engineers across the company
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with methods and tools of geospatial data analysis
  • Experience working with Apache Spark
  • Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with technologies related to cloud data applications (eg Splunk, AWS)
  • Experience improving the efficiency of data pipelines and methodologies to reduce development time
  • Agronomic domain knowledge/previous work experience in plant or crop sciences
