Job Description
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Diagnose and resolve problems across a variety of hardware platforms and vendors including Cisco, Juniper, F5, Checkpoint, Palo Alto and more;
• Experience communicating and working within cross-departmental teams;
• Identify automation opportunities as well as areas that can be improved to optimize the operation, such as documentation and monitoring adjustments;
• Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, procedures, and systems documentation;
• Work with Data Center staff, OIT, and users to perform server installations, upgrades, and configuration changes;
• Research and recommend appropriate technical solutions to meet functional requirements.
Qualifications
Requirements:
• Experience working in a large (2,500 user or more) network environment;
• Experience lead technician role responsible for training team members;
• Experience installing, configuring, and supporting Enterprise Firewalls and WAN environments;
• Experience in troubleshooting;
• Experience working with MyFloridaNet (MFN) and the State Division of Telecommunications;
• Experience with command line configuration;
• Experience working in a criminal justice environment (preferred);
• Experience with Cisco Firewalls, Routers, and Switches (preferred);
• Experience with Cisco SourceFire IPS (preferred);
• Experience with Kiwi CatTools, Cisco Works, Rancid (preferred);
• Experience with HP/ Aruba, Cisco, Brocade switches (preferred);
• Experience designing and deploying network access control (preferred);
• Experience mapping remote LANs, and creating detailed documentation (preferred);
• Experience with VoIP systems configuration, troubleshooting, and QoS (preferred);
• Experience designing wireless networks with an emphasis on security (preferred);
• Experience researching, developing and supporting network monitoring tools (preferred);
• Experience with Linux system administration (preferred);
• Experience programming in Python, C, and PowerShell scripting (preferred);
• Experience in state government projects (preferred);
• Experience using Offender Based Information System (OBIS) (preferred);
• Experience with IT standards in a criminal justice environment (preferred);
• Experience working with CSAB ordering processes (preferred).
