Responsibilities
  • Acquire, expand, and retain commercial relationships using a proactive calling strategy.
  • Cross-sell ancillary bank products and services.
  • Analyze applicants' credit histories and determine loan repayment capabilities.
  • Negotiate credit terms, including costs, loan repayment methods, and collateral specifications.
  • Develop and maintain an interest rate structure consistent with financial institution policies and procedures and competitive with current market rates.
  • Evaluate potential customer loan requests and make loan recommendations to management.
  • Review, approve, and dispose of commercial overdrafts daily.
  • Review new laws and regulations influencing business lending and make recommendations to management when necessary.
  • Provide assistance and recommend training for new commercial loan officers.
  • Develop new customer prospects and business for First United.
  • Represent the bank in the local community through active participation in community affairs.
  • Handle customer complaints and escalate issues as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness in and around the workstation.
  • Recommend methods to improve the department to the supervisor.
  • Dress professionally.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
