Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • An Associate’s degree is preferred.
  • At least three years of relevant Quality Control experience in construction or industrial installations is preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to work 50 or more hours per week as required by project demands.
  • Ability to maintain the same working hours and schedule as the installation team to ensure continuous quality oversight.
  • Flexibility and responsiveness to project schedules and deadlines.
Responsibilities
  • Review, understand, and interpret customer specifications, standards, and mechanical installation drawings.
  • Verify that installed components comply with approved specifications, standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Assist site leadership in ensuring installations align with customer expectations and project documentation.
  • Conduct daily and weekly quality audits, including pre-belt readiness inspections as conveyor systems near completion.
  • Monitor the quality of installation for every installed component throughout the project.
  • Inspect components upon arrival to confirm conformity and complete required component checklists.
  • Verify that conveyor belts are properly tracked, ladder rungs have anti-skid tape applied, and installation workmanship meets quality standards.
  • Generate and maintain a weekly list of quality-control issues requiring corrective action.
  • Photograph identified punch-list items for documentation and reference.
  • Develop detailed quality-control audit reports with photographic evidence, exact deficiency locations, and clear correction descriptions.
  • Create a combined punch-list report consolidating auditor findings, quality-control observations, customer-identified issues, and Project Manager items.
  • Present and distribute punch lists to the Project Superintendent weekly.
  • Track and verify corrective actions daily and update quality-control reports to reflect their status.
  • Present formal weekly quality-control status reports to the Project Manager and project team.
  • Walk projects with third-party inspectors and local municipality inspectors, addressing quality concerns in real time.
  • Serve as a liaison between the field installation team, project management, and customer representatives regarding quality matters.
  • Support the Project Manager on-site to achieve quality objectives without impacting schedule or safety.
  • Promote and reinforce safe work practices.
  • Ensure quality inspections and corrective actions comply with job-site safety requirements.
  • Ensure completion and accuracy of end-of-job quality documentation.
  • Drive efforts to minimize or eliminate punch-list items before project closeout, reducing rework and delays.
  • Assist project leadership in delivering a high-quality, compliant final product.
  • Identify quality issues early and drive corrective action promptly.
  • Maintain professional documentation, reporting accuracy, and consistent communication with stakeholders.
