Requirements
  • PhD or equivalent terminal degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in molecular biology techniques.
  • Strong English skills and ability to write and communicate with a scientific audience.
  • Candidates should be able to independently plan, multi-task and complete projects.
  • Education and research experience requirements as stated in job description.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct research related to thrombosis and hemostasis, analyze data, and interpret experimental results.
  • Prepare manuscripts for publishing in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
  • Present research findings at conferences and scientific meetings.
  • Collaborate with fellow lab members, including graduate students and technicians, to achieve research objectives.
  • Complete research projects under the guidance of the faculty mentor, record and interpret results in an electronic laboratory notebook, prepare publication-quality manuscripts (including figures and tables) and publish in peer-reviewed literature.
  • Read literature articles, develop new ideas, and assimilate information into project design/interpretation.
  • Disseminate studies by discussing experimental design and results with mentor and lab members.
  • Present research aims and findings at department seminars and scientific meetings; write and publish results as first author in abstracts, manuscripts, and posters.
  • Submit fellowship applications, as eligible, to bolster research funding and CV building.
  • Attend and maintain compliance on all orientation and training sessions and attend regular research team meetings.
Desired Qualifications
  • Proficiency in working with rodent or zebrafish models.
  • Experience designing and executing experiments, analyzing data, and writing grants and manuscripts for independent publication.
  • Experience supervising graduate students.
