Requirements
  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or equivalent degree
  • Advanced education in orthodontics (Master of Science or certificate)
  • PhD degree in biomedical sciences with good records of publications and experience in grant writing
  • Tenure faculty responsibilities - persons with the titles of professor, associate professor and assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure; earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience
Responsibilities
  • Develop independent, and sustainable teaching commitment and research programs
  • Be focused on innovative clinical and translational research to advance orthodontics in the 21st century
  • Teach pre-doctoral and graduate orthodontics; participate in the division's activities
  • Fully participate in the division’s activities
  • Secure extramural research funds
  • Respond to the duties and workload guidelines as per TIU and campus
  • Collaborate with other departments and engage in clinical practice and education as part of the division
Desired Qualifications
  • ABO certification or eligible for ABO certification
  • Experience teaching pre-doctoral and graduate orthodontics
  • Strong knowledge of modern technology in orthodontics
  • Track record of securing extramural research funds
  • Diversity background encouraged
