Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must satisfy and maintain all licensing requirements required by the applicable state or local jurisdiction.
  • Must hold a valid region- or market-specific security license in accordance with local government regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is required.
  • Must be able to discuss Asset Protection practices, incidents, and trends during team and leadership meetings.
  • Awareness of retail procedures and the criminal and civil proceeding process is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of retail security and information systems and productivity software is required.
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor the workplace through patrols, cameras, and other surveillance methods for safety and access issues.
  • Collect, process, and maintain evidence collected during investigations.
  • Prepare written reports and perform security audits.
  • Engage in store-wide communication regarding Asset Protection best practices, training, new-hire orientation, and safety and shortage meetings.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and execution of the local shortage strategy and company-standard audits.
  • Ensure physical security standards are maintained and initiate adjustments in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate the selling process through consistent adherence to policies and procedures that safeguard customers, associates, and company assets.
  • Detect and detain shoplifters and complete related documentation by applying the five stages of arrest.
  • Identify opportunities to improve Asset Protection strategies and present them to senior leadership using reports compiled from audit data.
  • Work to achieve storewide shortage results below provision and company standards.
  • Identify and address internal and external theft exposures.
  • Complete accident investigations and general liability claim reports.
  • Perform Asset Protection operational audits and internal self-audits in sensitive areas.
  • Respond to after-hours alarm calls and emergency situations.
  • Complete tasks and special projects assigned by store leadership.
