Requirements
  • Strong people management experience.
  • Knowledge of good industrial relations practices.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and difficult stakeholders, particularly subcontractors.
  • Ability to communicate with colleagues and clients in a warm and persuasive way, formally and informally, and adapt communication style to the audience.
  • Ability to build consensus.

  • More than ten years of experience working across a range of sectoral projects.
  • Experience leading others and a track record of delivering medium- to large-scale projects.
  • A trade or technical background.
  • IOSH or equivalent health and safety management training.
  • Knowledge of temporary works and excavation safety.
  • Knowledge of permitting requirements for live energy works.
  • Knowledge of working at heights and scaffolding.
  • Knowledge of lifting and cranage operations.
  • Other HSEQS training as required by the site HSE plan.
  • Knowledge of new technology in construction systems.
  • Understanding of the Building Information Modelling strategy.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in compiling the initial programme and maintain full awareness of weekly targets.
  • Plan and oversee site setup, ensuring appropriate facilities are in place before project launch.
  • Manage relationships with subcontractors working on site.
  • Ensure HSEQS protocols are adhered to on site.
  • Maintain quality-control procedures.
  • Ensure the TWR is in place and up to date.
  • Monitor on-site energy and waste data.
  • Ensure an efficient registration system monitors individuals entering and leaving the site.
  • Flag issues to the Contract Management and Commercial Teams that could affect project delivery, including materials, work schedules, resources, health and safety, cost, or delivery schedules.
  • Drive project pace and plan work in the field.
  • Coordinate and prioritize the sequence of on-site activities.
  • Manage a team of foremen and other site staff.
