Join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of others! We are looking for a Billing Specialist for our Finance team.
This role is remote with potential travel to our main office in New York, NY and/or the FreedomCare hub closest to you.
Department & Position Overview:
In the Finance/Billing team, we ensure all services provided by FreedomCare are submitted as claims to each patient’s insurance plan. We monitor these claims and solve any problems that may prevent them from being processed correctly by the patient’s plan.
Every Day You Will:
- Create invoices and submit them to respective payers; verify insurance for all patients on care
- Ensure accuracy of billing information, update patient demographics and insurance information; resolve issues related to billing rejections
- Create and maintain clean concise records
- Approve and submit adjusted claims; ensure unpaid claims are reviewed and appropriate action is taken
- Run reports in medfly and HHA Exchange to ensure billing is maximized
- Regularly update and amend data in Medflyt and HHAexchange
Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
- CDPAP or Home Care billing experience preferred
- Intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge – formulas, v/x/lookups, pivot tables, etc.
- Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail and data accuracy
- Problem solving skills with ability to identify errors and troubleshoot/solve billing issues
- Effective communication skills with ability to communicate with payers and billing software support/developers
- Ability to multitask, set priorities and manage time effectively
- Must have poise and patience to collaborate internally/externally
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience using HHAexchange
- Salesforce experience

At FreedomCare, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides our employees with the opportunity to professionally grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $20.00 and $27.00 an hour at the commencement of your first year of employment. Compensation decisions are dependent upon a variety of factors which may include, but are not limited to: skill set, years of relevant experience, education, location, and licensure/certifications.
