Requirements
  • Must have completed at least Sophomore year of college and be pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Engineering.
  • Classroom experience in core chemical engineering or other engineering disciplines (e.g. mass/energy balances, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics)
Responsibilities
  • Learn the responsibilities of an engineer with exposure to process and project engineering.
  • Incorporate academic knowledge into hands-on work.
  • Develop working understanding of manufacturing, production and project scheduling, quality control and safety.
  • Gain hands on shop floor experience with other engineers, operators and manufacturing resources.
  • Work independently as well as with other cross-functional resources to complete various tasks and objectives.
  • Work productively with others in evaluating problems and alternatives.
  • Work independently as well as with cross functional teams (including but not limited to engineering, manufacturing, quality functions) to implement process improvements on site.
  • Support process and project engineering activities on site.
  • Support completion of process hazard analysis action items.
  • Review Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) including review and field verification.
  • Review operations with manufacturing personnel and others. This includes reviewing of processes, procedures, and equipment both in an office setting as well as on the manufacturing shop floor.
  • Learn safety policies and procedures.
  • Generate reports and periodic project updates as requested.
  • Prepare and present a summary of experiences and lessons learned to Management staff at conclusion of internship.
  • Professional development with exposure to broad technical organization, including experts in project management, design engineering, process safety, occupational safety, manufacturing maintenance, etc.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Strong organizational and communications skills.
  • Flexible schedule.
  • Prior internship/co-op experience preferred but not required
