Requirements
  • Pursuing a degree with a focus in business, marketing, communications, journalism, digital marketing or a related field
  • Sophomore year must be complete by the start of the summer internship program
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative (e.g. school club officer, sports team captain, resident advisor, etc. or exceptional leadership on school/work projects)
  • Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience in content development
  • Graphic design basics (Adobe Creative Suite, i.e., InDesign and PhotoShop or a similar platform)
  • Passion for learning about communications
  • Familiarity with AP style guidelines is an added bonus
Responsibilities
  • Creating Compelling Content: Writing and developing corporate communications content, including blog posts, internal news articles, social media content, messaging documents, talking point, video scripts and more
  • Designing Visual Assets and Branded Materials: Helping with graphic design needs
  • Researching Best Practices: Helping our team review current programs and best practices
  • Developing Communications Plans and Templates: Creating plans and content for major campaigns like Allegion’s Manufacturing Day and our presence at the Society of Women Engineers conference
  • Supporting Events: Assist in planning and staffing corporate events, such as our quarterly Global Town Halls
