Product Manager II is responsible for the overall growth and profitability of a product within the product portfolio. The Product Manager will satisfy client expectations and ensure the product is competitive in a global maritime market. In addition, the product manager is responsible for ensure sales and operational teams have the necessary capabilities, training, and documentation to sell and implement the solution.
What you will do:
- The Product Manager is responsible for the overall vision, growth, and profitability of the assigned product.
- Responsible for the creation, communication, and maintenance of the product roadmap and backlog to ensure visibility and transparency of work planned.
- Ability to communicate progress to leadership and explain why key results are/or are not being achieved.
- Make decisions and maintains a value-based prioritized backlog of opportunities for products which align to the business strategy and goals. Exercise considerable judgment to make key tradeoff decisions.
- Develops business cases and economic models backed by data. Use product discovery techniques to move from idea to prototype.
- Maintains awareness of third-party capabilities that provide viable product solutions.
- Stays current with industry trends as well as competitors’ enterprise software capabilities.
- Partners with Design, Engineering, and Scrum masters to work within an agile team to deliver the product backlog; serves as the voice of the customer and communicates the value behind each product and prioritization decision.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with stakeholders across the organization to communicate status, align priorities, and ensure operational support for go to market plans.
- Develops user stories granular enough to be achieved in a single sprint, elaboration of Epics and Features, creating and maintaining the product backlog, supporting user and application testing, and coordinating release activities.
- Coordinates new and changed functionality with affected business groups to ensure seamless rollout of new capabilities.
- Assists with the training of global sales teams and preparation of materials required to be successful in the sales process.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to customers, industry professional associations and others that will elevate the brand awareness of ABS.
- Ensure that marketing and sales material is appropriate to ABS markets globally.
- Work with ABS groups to cross sell products that will enhance overall ABS offerings.

What You will Need:
Education & Experience
- Five or more (5+) years of sales or industry experience is required.
- Bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalent in a business, naval architecture, mechanical engineering, or related from an accredited university or the equivalent industry experience is required.
- Five or more (5+) years of maritime or related industry experience required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent Communication skills (verbal and written) for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Product Management training and/or certification from Pragmatic Marketing a plus
- Five or more (5+) years’ experience as a Product Manager in B2B applications
- Experience on an agile team utilizing a 2-4 weeks sprint cadence is essential
- Compliance business process knowledge a plus
- Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System
Reporting Relationships:
This position will report to a Manager, Director, or Executive level position.
