The platform routes tasks through specialized agents for triage, specifications, implementation, and review while keeping humans involved at approval points. Teams can mix models and coding harnesses within one workflow, track costs and results, and decide how much autonomy agents receive. The approach targets organizations trying to scale AI-assisted development without surrendering control over models, infrastructure, permissions, or code changes. How Warp Factories orchestrates and controls coding agents. A coordinating "foreman" decides which agents should handle each work item and skips stages that are not needed. Warp's Factories documentation says teams can customize agents and automations and manage factory definitions as version-controlled code, creating a review history and rollback path for configuration changes. Work can enter Factories through GitHub, GitLab, Slack, Linear, and Jira. Agents can run different supported models and harnesses, including Warp Agent, Anthropic's Claude Code, and OpenAI Codex. Warp launched a standalone Agent CLI today, and the headline is not the product - it is the plumbing underneath. The Warp Agent now runs in any terminal you already use: Ghostty, iTerm2, VS Code, macOS Terminal, Windows Terminal. But the reason developers should care is a pseudoterminal multiplexer that makes the agent natively aware of everything happening in your shell - and that unlocks something no other AI coding agent offers today. The mux architecture, explained. Most AI coding agents run in a terminal the way a hammer uses a nail gun - they fire commands and wait for output. Warp's approach is different. The Warp Agent CLI runs a pty (pseudoterminal) multiplexer between itself and the shell, similar to how tmux works. This layer gives the agent continuous, bidirectional access to terminal input and output. The result is what Warp calls Full Terminal Use. In practice, that means the agent can control interactive, long-running applications - not just execute one-shot commands.
