Job Description
As a finance POS analyst, you will report to the Director of Finance within the Distribution Operations team. You will play a crucial role in driving improvements in data integrity and customer engagement regarding the Point-of-Sale (POS) data reported by our Channel Partners.
- Engage with Channel Partners directly to ensure timely and accurate reporting of POS and Channel Inventory data as per the Western Digital’s distributor reporting policy. Includes some conflict resolution and complex problem solving, as well as developing solutions across internal stakeholders and customer teams.
- Serve as business lead for transformation of WD’s roadmap of tools and solutions to manage POS/Channel Inventory reporting and validation across all global partners and drive conversion to automated solutions in support of the distribution channel.
- This role will lead, coordinate and perform business testing on EDI connections and other business tools.
- The role is a critical partner to Western Digital’s Accounting team in understanding distribution market dynamic, channel inventory levels and modeling the impact of future sell through patterns on pricing and revenue.
- Ensure our data from Channel Partners results in timely and insightful information to the broader company regarding market dynamics, future pricing options and revenue planning.
- Actively engage WD counterparts in Sales, Sales Operations, Marketing, Pricing and across all segments of the POS process to understand customers’ engagement model and requirements, develop the ability to anticipate future financial impacts.
- Collaborate with the WD Finance team on channel pricing programs including MDF, Back End Rebates and other channel investments and be responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing processes to ensure overall compliance of the program.
- Manage and drive improvements in the quality of the POS reports received by Channel Partners.
- Track inventory on hand and sales and actively review with customer to ensure accuracy of claimed rebates.
- Provide support and training to customers regarding the sales and inventory data report processes.
- Provide analytics and reporting enhancements to support Financial close activities & the accounting accruals process.
Qualifications
- Accounts Receivable background or experience
- Understanding Channel Management as it relates to POS and inventory.
- Bachelor’s or higher degree required.
- Leadership and strong business partnering across supply chain, pricing & sales-related organizations.
- Systems aptitude, with knowledge of Model N.
- Basic awareness of accounting principles
