Requirements
  • A registered nurse license in Arizona or a compact RN license with eligibility to practice in Arizona.
  • Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain it.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.
  • Experience nursing for 1 year is preferred.
  • Experience with allergy or immunology is preferred.
  • Experience with electronic medical record systems is required; ModMed experience is a plus.
  • Ability to perform complex tasks using independent knowledge and judgment.
  • Skill in pulmonary function testing, fractional exhaled nitric oxide testing, and peak flow monitoring.
  • Phlebotomy experience.
  • Ability to educate patients about medications and environmental controls.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize duties, and work independently in a dynamic clinical environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proficiency and confidence in intravenous fluid administration, including preparation, setup, infusion monitoring, and documentation while following clinical protocols and safety standards.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including up to 8-hour shifts.
  • Ability to occasionally lift objects weighing 5–25 pounds, bend, stoop, and reach.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for patient care, typing, and equipment handling.
  • Normal or corrected vision and hearing.
  • Ability to move quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting and move throughout exam rooms, the front office, and supply areas.
Responsibilities
  • Perform allergy skin testing.
  • Perform spirometry, DLCO, and fractional exhaled nitric oxide testing.
  • Perform mannitol challenges, drug challenges, and food challenges.
  • Assist in the treatment of anaphylaxis, including administering injectable epinephrine, intravenous fluids, oxygen, and nebulized medications.
  • Administer intravenous medications and infusions in accordance with Arizona State Board of Nursing scope-of-practice guidelines, including intravenous immunoglobulin and monoclonal antibody therapies.
  • Oversee implementation of standard operating procedures across clinical care areas.
  • Oversee allergy immunotherapy injections, skin testing protocols, food and drug challenge protocols, and oral immunotherapy treatments.
  • Maintain and manage staff training logs and ensure protocol compliance.
  • Participate in and oversee clinical trials.
  • Supervise administration of investigational products by study coordinators.
  • Support and train clinical research staff and address medical questions.
  • Ensure accurate completion of clinical study documentation, including training logs, delegation of authority forms, and equipment calibration and maintenance logs.
  • Oversee preparation of food allergen solutions.
  • Participate in and supervise food up-dosing appointments and in-office food challenges.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
