Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (typically Mechanical, Civil or Mining) and directly applicable work experience.
  • Excellent experience in the Aggregates business focused on credibility as an Aggregates Professional.
  • Aggregate plant design experience across hard rock, limestone and sand and gravel.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal, written and presentation.
  • Strong ability to take detailed or complex engineering, science techniques or processes and develop simple and effective tools and training material suitable for multiple management groups.
  • Experience in operations, project management and knowledge management.
  • Good technical knowledge regarding engineering practices and aggregates processing.
  • Good organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong ability to build relationships and coordinate diverse interests at all levels.
  • Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Flexibility for significant travel across Europe and possibly a wider geographically.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the EU and AMWA Area approach to engineering and project management.
  • Ensure that Project Management Guidelines and documents, Design Criteria (DC), Capex and Engineering support tools, checklists are followed and associated training is delivered.
  • Support the Global Head of Engineering and Project Management to develop and evolve guidance, training, tools and technology to improve the quality of outcomes in engineering design, project management and operational performance.
  • Provide specialist support of Area CAPEX and delivery of significant construction and M&A projects.
  • Direct engineering support as needed including design, technical problem solving, RCAs, and solutions for the aggregates, asphalt and recycling businesses.
  • Facilitate aggregates processing and engineering knowledge sharing of good ideas, practice, lessons learned, RCA, and project reviews through being an active member of the various existing forums (e.g.: SIG, Yammer, Unite).
  • Support the advancement of sharing and fostering knowledge management across other competence centers, group departments including Digital, Purchasing, Health & Safety, ESG and external groups and suppliers.
  • Maintain and continue development of a strong internal specialist network and facilitate input from CCA and other business resources to significant CAPEX projects.
