Our goal is to make food more affordable, higher quality, and convenient for everyone. We’re changing the game for restaurateurs, whether they’re entrepreneurs opening their first restaurant through your favorite global quick-service restaurant chains.

What you’ll do

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join our team in Seattle. As a critical member of our Infrastructure Cost and Ownership team:

• You will work closely with a small and talented group of software engineers to build an exceptional infrastructure platform that everyone in the company will use on a daily basis so they are able to build the most efficient and reliable products for our customers.
• You will have the opportunity to define and execute your own vision of creating a holistic and forward-looking platform with the ambitious goal of making a significant impact on the entire industry.
• Your day-to-day will be focused on building rather than sitting in meetings, as we value hands-on work and getting things done. 

The Infra Cost and Ownership team is part of the Infrastructure organization, which has a mission of building the foundation technologies for CSS products and services. The Infrastructure org include the following teams: Core Compute, Core Network, Cost, Data, Storage, Orchestration, Governance, Machine Learning, Coordination, Observability, Developer, and Security. 

You will work with technologies like Java, Go, Kubernetes, React, GraphQL, and more. And we’re constantly innovating and enhancing our stack - your feedback will help us improve!

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of industry software engineering experience in building distributed systems at scale.
• Comfortable using or learning our primary programming languages, Java, Go, and Python.

• Strong command of the full life cycle of shipping web applications, from design and implementation to testing and deployment.
• Strong communicator who can explain complex topics to other engineers, designers, product managers, and support personnel.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes (we do write our own operators) & cloud offerings from Azure/GCP/AWS.
• Experience working with React and Typescript is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience.

This role is based in our Seattle office location.
