  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Management or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience in leadership and continuous improvement.
  • Minimum 7 years manufacturing experience, prefer at least 5 years in a leadership position. Experience leading other leaders preferred.
  • Previous Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma training strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, work, and develop others in a team environment.
  • Ability and willingness to lead and motivate others in a positive manner, including coaching others to follow work instructions, achieve standards, and reach team goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow through, manage, and successfully complete multiple individual and team projects at the same time.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and conduct meetings with direct reports individually and in regularly scheduled team meetings. Include support staff as needed to maximize efficient operations and foster 'One Team' approach.
  • Proactively communicate business and department results (performance to established metrics, financial results, and general business information).
  • Ensure effective schedule execution across a three-shift operation.
  • Plan ahead to ensure full utilization of resources.
  • Develop and maintain a work schedule that provides appropriate exposure to all shifts of direct reports.
  • Ensure team communication between departments.
  • Partner with Sales, Materials, Shipping and Receiving, R&D, and other department on process improvements.
  • Act as a liaison with Shipping and Receiving, Materials, Scheduling, Production and Maintenance areas to ensure proper production flow.
  • Develop and maintain systems for clear, proactive communication of priorities, production status, and project feedback.
  • Lead and/or participate in daily operations and weekly special focus meetings.
  • Meet or exceed company standards for productivity, cost, OEE, quality, machine uptime, OTCC and other performance measures.
  • Ensure optimal production scheduling to balance the needs of the customers with operational efficiency.
  • Measure and communicate performance to teams.
  • Ensure consistent communication and application of Operational and other Company policies procedures.
  • Document and monitor procedures and processes to eliminate variation and promote sharing of knowledge.
  • Learn, understand, and follow documented policies, procedures, and work procedures and drive others to do so.
  • Cross train in related functions and assist others in obtaining cross-functional capabilities.
  • Provide frequent, specific performance feedback and coaching to all Operations employees, including proactively addressing performance issues.
  • Assure that Operations employees are appropriately trained, coached, and developed in support of individual development growth plans. Identify potential successors within the organization and develop them towards this goal.
  • Conduct timely and thorough employee reviews giving accurate and constructive feedback to reports, and review and sign off on all performance reviews performed by direct reports.
  • Build and maintain a high performance team environment within the production and equipment support areas and coach others in effective team interaction and to function as a team together with the teams they support.
  • Supports company in meeting all environmental related needs/matters, including compliance, measurements, and standards.
  • Support, understand, and coach others in understanding and use of lean tools, including visual tools, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Identify opportunities for Six Sigma/Lean within the Company.
  • Drive, initiate, and support continuous improvement and elimination of waste and variation in processes using established improvement processes.
  • Contribute information and ideas in support of strategic and tactical planning, setting company policy and standards, and managing financial performance.
  • Promote operational capabilities to the marketplace through outstanding customer service and knowledge of world class manufacturing capabilities, customer visits and tours and participation in sales initiatives.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of systems such as costing, bar coding, cycle counting, and other support systems. Proficiently operate such systems to optimize business results.
  • Support recruiting, selection, and development of diverse candidates and employees to assure varying points of view, skill sets, and backgrounds are contributing to the company.

Apogee posts weakest Q4 among commercial building products stocks with $348.6M revenue miss

Apogee, which designs architectural products including high-performance glass for commercial buildings, reported Q4 revenues of $348.6 million, up 2.1% year on year but missing analysts' expectations by 1.9%. The company delivered the weakest performance against analyst estimates among commercial building products stocks tracked. Full-year earnings per share guidance also missed expectations significantly. Chief executive Donald Nolan acknowledged the challenging environment whilst highlighting the company's operational foundation and balance sheet strength. The five commercial building products stocks tracked reported a satisfactory Q4 overall, with revenues beating consensus estimates by 1.2%. However, the sector has declined collectively, with average share prices down 1.6% since latest earnings. Apogee's stock fell 7.3% following its results and currently trades at $34.56.

Apogee Enterprises announced that Mark Augdahl has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately. Augdahl has served as the Company's Interim CFO since January 7, 2026.
