Electrical Estimator

Description

General Responsibilities 

• Generate accurate and detailed Electrical bids utilizing builder provided blueprints and specifications.
• Maintain updated and accurate floorplan-specific proposals.
• Keep and maintain up to date records of builder specifications.
• Collaborate with the Sales team and the Purchasing department to ensure all requirements are included in each bid to the builder.
• Work closely with the Starts department to generate accurate material takeoffs for each new house.
• Start to finish project estimation, providing “turnkey” estimates to the sales team and/or the home builders.
• Collaborate with Sales, Estimating, Starts,  and Production managers to gather all necessary information for accurate bid proposals. 
• Ensure bid compliance with all local, state, and federal codes and regulations. 
• Manage multiple bid proposals simultaneously.
• Assist other trade (Plumbing and HVAC) Estimating teams in projects as needed. 

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years current and specific Electrical estimating experience in new home construction
• Knowledge of Electrical installs, components, and industry standards
• Ability to interpret blueprints and specifications as well as have a general knowledge of the construction industry
• Must be proficient in basic computer skills that include but are not limited to MS Outlook, Excel, vendor portals and company software
• Solid problem solving skills and a willingness to learn company processes and procedures and take on new projects with a “can do” attitude
• Proficient at professionally communicating both verbally and in writing with coworkers, clients, and builders.
• Perform the physical demands of the position - working indoors with long periods of time sitting; listening and speaking on the telephone; viewing monitor and workstation
