Requirements
  • Successful completion of an accredited ACGME or AOA residency training program in general surgery or plastic surgery
  • Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Surgery, the American Board of Plastic Surgery, or the equivalent by the American Osteopathic Association
  • Knowledge of Burn Team physician roles, section policies, protocols, and guidelines
  • Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date
Responsibilities
  • The role is to join the team to work at University Medical Center Level 1 trauma center and ABA verified burn center, focusing on burn care with opportunities to include trauma and emergency general surgery patients in practice.
  • Provide clinical burn care and participate in the treatment of burns of all mechanisms, complex wounds, and certain dermatologic conditions.
  • Engage in research, outreach, teaching, and process improvement related to burn care.
  • Participate in teaching and training activities for residents and fellows within UNLV General Surgery, UNLV Plastic Surgery, UNLV Emergency Medicine, and related fellowships; contribute to the educational mission of the burn center.
Desired Qualifications
  • Burn fellowship training preferred
  • 3 years experience as an Academic attending surgeon is preferred
  • Current ABLS provider or Instructor Certification preferred
