Requirements
  • Associates Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field and 1-year supervisory experience OR Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field OR 1 year Walmart Supply Chain Management experience OR 2 years Walmart Supply Chain experience OR 2 years supervisory experience.
Responsibilities
  • Communicate with or to individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g., customers, suppliers, vendors, associates).
  • Manage processing of shipload purchase orders, inbound/outbound containers/trailers, and claims by monitoring all activities, conducting problems research, and ensuring that all freight is loaded/unloaded correctly.
  • Ensure sorted pallets are built safely, correctly, and cubed properly. Loaded and placed on the proper route truck/box truck/trailer and/or container in a secure manner.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards in area of responsibility by ensuring associates are trained on sort center and company policies, standards, and procedures, monitoring compliance to policies and procedures, distributing and maintaining procedures and supporting documentation.
  • Supervise and develop associates and leaders in area of responsibility by assigning duties and coordinating workloads, monitoring performance and providing feedback, teaching, supporting, and modeling sort center and company policies and procedures, identifying training and development needs, and participating in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates and leaders.
  • Facilitate carrier operations by processing and monitoring carrier activity, working with carriers and home office on resolution, scheduling carrier load/unload, and resolving concerns and maximizing benefits to the operation of the facility and carrier needs.
  • Monitor and manage productivity of area of responsibility by preparing, reviewing, and/or analyzing business reports.
  • Identify associate, customer, and/or supplier/vendor concerns by listening, consulting with others when needed to determine corrective action to take or make recommendations to resolve.
  • Develop and enhance relationships with carriers, private fleet, suppliers/vendors. Be the conduit between them and sort center leadership.
  • Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identifying and communicating goals and objectives, building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results, identifying and addressing improvement opportunities, and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning.
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring and training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy, and providing direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices.
  • Looks at work plans and makes changes as needed to achieve team or work group objectives. Sets realistic timelines for goal accomplishment. Improves work processes and practices to increase performance and results.
Desired Qualifications
  • Both Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field; and 1-year supervisory experience.
  • Coordinating carrier and driver relations experience (e.g. – dispatch, load builder, managing fleet and 3rd party drivers).
  • Experience with (G-Scope, RTTV, or similar sortation/transportation software).
  • Logistics-based computer applications experience (e.g. – Sort systems, Visual Dispatch Systems, Warehouse/Transportation Systems).
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Adobe, etc.).
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Walmart Logistics supervisory experience.
