- Four to six years of experience in providing technical Level II problem isolation and resolution for a Global Network with ability to configure and perform advanced diagnostics on infrastructure components.
- Experience understanding and repairing LAN infrastructure including cable and fiber, and configuring LAN switch technology for bridging or routing.
- Experience performing hardware fault isolation and repair and repairing switching and VLAN problems.
- Understanding LAN repeater and retiming technology, WAN modem technology, and knowledge of standard bridge and router software, hardware, and operational characteristics.
- Familiarity with routing protocols for LAN and WAN, basic understanding of Windows Server configuration and TCP/IP infrastructures, and ability to correctly configure servers and clients for all services.
- Ability to configure routers and switches and isolate and repair most IP services problems; skilled in using appropriate tools during problem isolation and repair.
- In-depth understanding of communications technologies and capability to isolate and resolve most infrastructure issues.
- Associates Degree minimum, with preference for Computer Science or technology area or telecommunications science minor.
- Three to six months of specialized technical courses in communications technologies typically provided by vendors, technical societies, or equivalent experience.
- Provide technical Level II problem isolation and resolution for a Global Network.
- Configure and perform advanced diagnostics on infrastructure components.
- Understand and repair LAN infrastructure including cable and fiber.
- Understand and be able to configure and install LAN switch technology for bridging or routing.
- Perform hardware fault isolation and repair.
- Repair switching and Virtual Local Area Network problems.
- Longevity with previous positions; customer service experience as they will be talking on the phone.
- Training on all Personal Computer Gear to include Bluecoat, F5, Visual and IT Service Management.
- Knowledge of network terms listed on resumes as HM will ask about them.
