- Prepare for services by delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos, and other personal keepsakes or mementos of client families, and ensure proper care and storage of these items.
- Prepare documents related to services, cremations, and maintenance as directed by management.
- Assist with respectful preparation of the remains of deceased persons, including dressing and lifting deceased persons, or operate the crematory as permitted by law and in accordance with company regulations.
- Perform office duties, including answering phones and operating a fax machine, computer, multiline phone system, debit card machine, typewriter, postage meter and scale, and stereo/video system.
- Run errands such as delivering flowers and picking up supplies or documents.
- Serve as an usher, park cars, and perform transportation-related duties.
- Drive funeral home vehicles for services and to pick up families.
- Ensure refreshments are available where allowed by law.
- Assist with visitations, memorial services, and funeral services, including visitation and chapel setup, dressing and casketing remains, and delivering family items and flowers.
- Greet and receive client families and other persons entering the office for information and assistance.
- Accommodate the needs of families during services and visitations.
- Wash and clean funeral home vehicles and other client vehicles as required.
- Previous customer service and/or sales experience is preferred.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and databases is preferred.
