Job Description
The Department of Pediatrics and the Medical University South Carolina (MUSC) at Charleston is accepting applications for a tenured track faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor. We are seeking an outstanding basic or physician scientist with an interest to study pediatric health and disease. The applicant should have a terminal degree (PhD, MD, MD/PhD) with a minimum of 3 years of postdoctoral training, and a track record of high quality publications. A record of extramural funded research is preferred but not required.
The position is supported by generous startup funds and laboratory space within the Darby Children’s Research Institute (DCRI) housed with state of art facilities. The interdepartmental children’s research program supports a highly collaborative environment with opportunities for both basic and translational research.
MUSC is strongly supported by a top ranked Department of Pediatrics, and the recent opening of the new MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital, which together provide outstanding childhood care.
