Requirements
  • At least 7 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) experience.
  • A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
  • Experience managing international entities and working across multiple currencies.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and enterprise resource planning system proficiency.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, communication, critical thinking, organization, and attention-to-detail abilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in remote and in-person settings.
  • Comfort working across time zones for international calls, including occasional early or late meetings.
Responsibilities
  • Manage daily, weekly, and monthly US GAAP accounting tasks for the foreign acquisition.
  • Own the month-end close process, including reviewing account reconciliations, posting adjusting journal entries, consolidating into the company’s NetSuite instance, and completing assigned reviewer responsibilities.
  • Review team work products, identify and correct errors, and enhance processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Verify intercompany transactions and eliminations across subsidiaries.
  • Assist the Australia-based accounting team with preparing statutory financial statements and liaise with external auditors when required.
  • Maintain and enhance accounting documentation, policies, and internal controls.
  • Own assigned Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 key controls and ensure they are performed without deficiencies.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members supporting US GAAP and local accounting.
  • Participate in due diligence and integration for new market launches and expansions.
  • Lead and advocate for process improvements and system enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop cross-functional relationships with internal stakeholders and ensure timely, accurate delivery of requests and projects.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for relevant accounting matters, ensuring clear communication and issue escalation as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Big Four accounting firm experience.
  • Exposure to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or other non-US GAAP accounting standards.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or active progress toward CPA certification.
  • Experience with NetSuite.
  • Prior experience in a public company environment and with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  • West Coast location, preferred for international call scheduling.
