Zoox is looking for a seasoned Mobile Software (iOS and/or Android) Engineer to join the Mobile Apps Engineering team. The position comes with a high degree of independence and the opportunity to help shape our iOS and Android architecture. Your work will be highly visible, at the forefront of our service rollout. In your development work, and in interactions with infrastructure teams, we will expect you to be essential in establishing practices and interfaces that result in a robust, usable, and secure system: from Rider, to Cloud, to Robot.
Responsibilities
- Own the engineering design and implementation of major product features and enablement efforts for Zoox’s user-facing mobile applications
- Contribute toward architecting world-class, scalable mobile applications (iOS & Android)
- Collaborate with teams of world-class engineers from diverse backgrounds with expertise in rider experience, backend services, autonomous driving, mapping, AI, and software infrastructure
- Collaborate with our talented design and product teams on identifying and solving questions about how our users (riders) can access Zoox services in the most efficient and intuitive manner
- Contribute to products that impact humans and their experience in autonomous vehicle ride, and work on solving problems that arise from real-life situations
Qualifications
- BS / MS in Computer Science or similar degree, with 5+ years of relevant experience
- Strong background in mobile architecture development on either iOS or Android, and some experience with the opposite
- Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and experience teams to architect and drive a feature from concept through production
- Demonstrate experience building high-quality mobile apps from scratch all the way to production and ongoing maintenance
- Passion for learning new technologies, domains, and challenging the status quo
Bonus Qualifications
- Proven technical leadership in mobile development
- Strong background as a Computer Science generalist
- Prior involvement collaborating with Security teams to protect customer data and company operations
- Familiarity working with CI/CD pipelines, automation testing, and improving the developer experience
- Measured approach to roll-out and prioritization through the use of metrics gathering and data analysis
- Experience working with Kotlin Multiplatform, or other multiplatform technologies
- Experience with Kotlin
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $143,000 to $200,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate’s relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
