Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related technical field is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in software engineering or machine learning engineering, focused on AI/ML applications in insight generation, summarization, semantic search, and prediction.
  • Hands-on expertise in natural language processing and machine learning, including classifiers, transformer models, and large language models.
  • Experience with scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
  • Experience delivering production-grade generative AI or large-language-model systems with measurable business impact.
  • Proficiency in building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and distributed systems using Apache Kafka, Airflow, and Snowflake.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
  • Practical experience with cloud-native development, containerization, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems, contribute to architectural decisions, and deliver high-performance, reliable solutions.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and data scientists in globally distributed teams.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, data-driven environments.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver AI and machine learning capabilities that generate insights on the PitchBook Platform and align with business and strategic priorities.
  • Design, build, and deploy AI/ML models and services for natural language processing, summarization, semantic search, classification, and prediction.
  • Develop scalable, high-performance systems that meet production-grade reliability and efficiency standards.
  • Build and optimize models using classifiers, transformers, large language models, and other natural language processing techniques.
  • Integrate models into the broader AI/ML infrastructure with partner teams.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and data collection teams to ensure models use high-quality data and support product goals.
  • Research emerging technologies, methodologies, and tools in generative AI, natural language processing, and search, and translate findings into practical solutions.
  • Contribute to model transparency, monitoring, evaluation, compliance, security, data integrity, and responsible AI practices.
  • Participate in technical candidate evaluations and help onboard new team members through documentation, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
  • Apply Agile, Lean, and Fast-Flow principles to model development and deployment cycles.
  • Support company values through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors.
  • Participate in company initiatives and projects as requested.
  • Work in the office five days per week and travel on a limited basis to remote offices or business meetings and events.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with the LangChain ecosystem, including LangSmith and LangGraph, and production experience using these tools.
  • Working knowledge of Java or Scala.
  • Experience working in fintech or with financial data platforms.
  • Experience authoring research papers for peer-reviewed AI/ML conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, or ACL and participating in the broader AI research community.
  • Advanced degree.

The data is delivered through the Essential connector and indexed within ChatGPT for Financial Services, requiring no separate activation.
