Requirements
  • Experience in strategy consulting, transaction services, or a value-creation team, including commercial due diligence, pricing, or earnings improvement.
  • Experience calculating profitability at the customer, product, or service level and presenting the results to decision-makers.
  • Experience contributing to value-creation or earnings-improvement programs after an acquisition.
  • Experience conducting conversations about money or performance and maintaining a position when challenged.
  • Profiles from other backgrounds are considered if they bring earnings calculation and pricing enforcement experience in the German mid-market.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including contribution-margin models, scenarios, and robust data architecture using imperfect source data.
  • SQL or Python skills to avoid rebuilding analyses manually.
  • Ability to read accounting records and identify where delivered services are not reflected in invoicing.
  • Ability to use artificial intelligence for data analysis, pattern recognition in existing-customer data, and drafting.
  • Ability to influence people without formal authority using defensible analysis and an appropriate communication style.
  • Willingness to learn from practitioners and incorporate client-relationship knowledge not captured in models.
  • Strong accuracy and data-quality standards.
Responsibilities
  • Develop the financial value-creation plan for each acquisition, covering fee levels, service mix, responsibilities, and employee structure, including levers, sequencing, expected results, and timing.
  • Track each value-creation plan over multiple years and report actual results against the valuation assumptions.
  • Work on multiple integrations simultaneously at different stages.
  • Analyze existing client portfolios using live accounting data, including mandate size, service usage, fee levels, and contribution margin.
  • Evaluate productivity by service type and employee, identifying contribution margin and value creation per working hour.
  • Identify from the same data where clients need services they do not currently receive, define signals for those needs, and make them discoverable through automation.
  • Derive concrete actions from each finding, with a named action, responsible person, and date.
  • Lead fee discussions personally, with or without the responsible professional beside you, including unprofitable mandates.
  • Present financial findings directly to the professionals responsible at each location and identify concrete changes required.
  • Develop and follow up on action plans for each client mandate and employee, including owners, deadlines, and measurable results.
  • Maintain ongoing dialogue with management and the executive team about what is working, what is not, and where pricing or productivity rules fail in individual cases.
  • Own revenue and earnings forecasts, budgets, scenarios, and variance analyses across all locations, including newly acquired units.
  • Automate the analyses and reporting that you build so that metrics support decisions for the next twelve months.
  • Make performance visible while ensuring that financial metrics support rather than replace the company's culture.
  • If the function grows beyond one person, build the team through hiring, guidance, and professional standards.
