Requirements
  • A university degree or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of risk management and anti-money laundering requirements, including the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and other applicable U.S. regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of broker-dealer businesses, including securities and investment banking, and their associated financial-crimes risks such as market manipulation and insider trading.
  • In-depth knowledge of Capital Markets products, trade cycles, settlement flows, and their use in financial-crimes activities.
  • Ability to apply regulatory requirements to the development of risk-based, reasonable anti-money laundering, economic sanctions, and anti-bribery and anti-corruption controls for relevant business models and diversified products.
  • Ability to produce quality work under strict deadlines and effectively prioritize and complete multiple projects.
Responsibilities
  • Support the BSA AML Officer in overseeing and executing financial-crimes requirements for the broker-dealer entities.
  • Provide ongoing financial-crimes subject-matter and policy expertise to the BSA AML Officer and the first-, second-, and third-line-of-defense functions.
  • Assist with oversight, monitoring, and effective challenge of the control environment.
  • Lead drafting of the quarterly U.S. Capital Markets Quarterly AML Report and present metrics, trend analysis, issue management, and other applicable regulatory reporting under the BSA Officer's oversight.
  • Support BSA AML Officer audit and regulator engagements and assist with resolving information requests, reporting requirements, and remediation findings.
  • Ensure that U.S. anti-money laundering regulatory obligations under the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering Act, and Customer Due Diligence Rule updates are met.
  • Interface with primary and key regulators, including the Federal Reserve Board and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
  • Facilitate control development for financial-crimes risk mitigation and identify gaps and remedial steps through issue management.
  • Support the BSA Officer in managing New Business Committee financial-crimes requirements for new or expanding products and services, including evaluation of risks and controls and coordination with global Capital Markets financial-crimes stakeholders.
  • Provide material input into regulatory-change, guidance, and enforcement-action assessments affecting the broker-dealer to support regulatory compliance, best-practice alignment, and emerging-risk management.
  • Deliver tailored anti-money laundering training to business and infrastructure groups, update training materials, and oversee completion of required financial-crimes training.
  • Support the BSA Officer with the broker-dealer risk assessment and risk and control self-assessment.
  • Advise on product risk and assess impacts on the Client Risk Rating model and risk assessment.
  • Contribute to transaction-monitoring typologies, data feeds, interfaces, rollout activities, and monitoring of activity booked to the broker-dealer.
  • Provide oversight of the Capital Markets Financial Intelligence Unit transaction-monitoring and investigation team's review and resolution of alerts and investigations.
  • Collaborate with the Trade Surveillance team on financial-crimes communications and escalation of unusual activity.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and approval of suspicious activity report filings for the broker-dealer with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network and ensure appropriate risk mitigation.
  • Assist the BSA Officer with law-enforcement matters involving financial crimes.
  • Enhance anticipated-activity requirements and refresh anticipated activity to comply with the Customer Due Diligence Rule.
  • Coordinate with Fraud Management and relevant stakeholders on escalation, investigation, and reporting processes.
  • Provide regular updates to the Head of U.S. Capital Markets Financial Crimes, BSA AML Officer, and Chief Operating Officer, escalating significant issues when needed.
  • Liaise with the U.S. Director of Financial Crimes Oversight Testing regarding the testing program.
  • Participate as an active member of the CUSO Financial Crime Management Committee.
  • Assist with developing and updating financial-crimes policies and procedures at least annually.
  • Act as a financial-crimes subject-matter expert and handle anti-money laundering inquiries from front-office, back-office, and infrastructure groups.
  • Assist with U.S. financial-crimes strategy projects, including project and task management and required documentation.
  • Maintain industry expertise through participation in financial-crimes forums and training.
  • Apply a cross-enterprise mindset across borders, areas of expertise, businesses, and functions.
  • Support a culture of compliance and reinforce behaviors that contribute to organizational goals.

RBC beats profit estimates as capital markets, wealth management shine. August 27, 2026 Royal Bank of Canada (TSX:RY) beat analyst estimates in the third quarter, powered by strength in capital markets and wealth management, extending a trend seen across Canada's largest lenders this earnings season. RBC reported third-quarter profit of $6.02 billion, up from $5.41 billion a year earlier, with gains also coming from commercial banking. Profit amounted to $4.23 per diluted share for the quarter ended July 31, up from $3.75 a year earlier. On an adjusted basis, the bank earned $4.28 per diluted share, compared with $3.84 in the same quarter last year. Analysts had expected a profit of $4.08 per share and $18.14 billion in revenue, according to LSEG Data & Analytics. Revenue for the quarter came in at $18.54 billion, up from $16.99 billion a year earlier. Provision for credit losses totalled $1 billion, up from $881 million a year earlier. Jefferies analysts said the results reinforce their view that RBC's diversified business mix is a key driver of its premium return on equity, and that favourable conditions for wealth management should continue to support the bank's growth and valuation. The brokerage noted RBC's ROE rebounded from a second-quarter slowdown, helped by strong capital markets revenue and some credit allowance releases, widening its lead over peers to 18.1% against a group average of 16%. Jefferies also pointed to domestic loan growth that outpaced the peer average. While cautioning that investors should not fully pay up for the capital markets contribution, Jefferies said the quarter demonstrated the broader strength of RBC's platform across segments. The brokerage added that Canadian bank valuations remain close to stretched territory, and that earnings will need to grow into current multiples, but called RBC's results a compelling case relative to its peers. Canada's big banks beat estimates with 35% capital-markets gain

Canada's largest banks exceeded earnings estimates as capital-markets divisions posted a 35% year-over-year gain. Royal Bank of Canada and Toronto-Dominion Bank reported fiscal third-quarter results Thursday, with Toronto-Dominion's capital-markets unit achieving record net income of C$743 million, up 87% from last year. Royal Bank's capital-markets earnings reached C$1.54 billion in the three months through July. Toronto-Dominion's adjusted earnings per share of C$2.77 surpassed the C$2.48 analyst estimate. All six major Canadian banks beat consensus forecasts this week, benefiting from strong capital-markets performance and contained credit loss provisions. Revenue growth outpaced expenses across all lenders, with Toronto-Dominion's adjusted return on equity rising to 16% and Royal Bank reaching 18.1%.

A year ago, the company earned $2.79 per share. The bank has beaten consensus earnings estimates in each of the last four quarters. Revenues for the quarter ended July 2026 reached $13.28 billion, exceeding the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 2.96% and compared to $12.36 billion year-over-year. Royal Bank shares have risen approximately 21.5% since the beginning of the year, outperforming the S&P 500's 12.1% gain. Imprint secures $2B debt funding with AAA-rated ABS upsized to $500M on strong demand

Imprint Payments has secured $2 billion in new debt funding capacity since April 2026, including $1.5 billion in warehouse capacity and a $500 million AAA-rated asset-backed securitisation. The co-brand financial and loyalty platform added $1 billion through a new warehouse facility with Bank of Nova Scotia, Royal Bank of Canada, and TD Bank Group, whilst doubling an existing facility from $500 million to $1 billion with Citi, Mizuho, Truist, and HSBC. Imprint's second ABS transaction attracted $2.35 billion in investor orders, representing 4.7x coverage, prompting an upsize from $300 million to $500 million. The transactions reduce Imprint's cost of fund margin by 23% and diversify its funding sources. The company works with brands including Booking.com, H-E-B, and Shell.
