Requirements
  • Completed at least two years towards a Bachelor’s degree in User Experience (UX) Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Digital Media or Multimedia Design, Computer Science or Information Technology, or Psychology
  • Must be a rising junior or senior in their undergraduate program
  • Familiarity with digital product design best practices, usability, accessibility, and user-centered design procedures
  • Experience using Figma, or a similar web-based design tool
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace
  • A passion for identifying and solving problems
  • Curiosity and an engaged mindset
  • Interest in Product Design, information hierarchy, user flow, and typography principles
Responsibilities
  • Help the Product Design team define new user experiences across The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, MarketWatch and other various news and research products
  • Learn from a multidisciplinary team including Product, UX Research, Editorial, and Engineering
  • Focus on and take ownership of a project or initiative that spans the duration of the internship
  • Implement design direction aligned with Dow Jones’ Product Design principles
  • Communicate across a multidisciplinary team throughout each phase of a project
  • Help develop innovative approaches to complex Product Design challenges
  • Stay informed on trends, tools, and technologies in Product Design, and proactively pursue knowledge for professional development
