Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, such as Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Materials Science engineering, or a related technical discipline is required.
  • International travel is required as necessary.
  • Experience with SolidWorks is required.
  • At least 1-3 years of progressive experience in supplier quality, supplier development, or a related engineering role within a manufacturing environment is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 is required.
  • Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and 8D is required.
  • Experience conducting supplier audits and implementing corrective and preventive action plans is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required to interpret technical data and drive data-based decisions.
  • Communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills are required to build and maintain effective relationships with external suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications is required.
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing processes and materials is required.
  • Experience with new product introduction and supplier readiness activities is required.
Responsibilities
  • Identify, evaluate, and select potential suppliers based on quality, technical, and commercial criteria.
  • Lead the supplier qualification process to ensure supplier capabilities align with organizational requirements.
  • Establish and maintain quality standards and expectations for suppliers.
  • Implement quality control plans and oversee supplier adherence through audits, process reviews, and performance monitoring.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison with suppliers and facilitate resolution of technical issues.
  • Collaborate on design for manufacturability and design for assembly initiatives to optimize component design for supplier capabilities.
  • Establish key performance indicators to track and analyze supplier quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven analysis and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Identify and assess supply-chain risks related to quality and technical capabilities.
  • Develop and implement mitigation strategies to ensure supply continuity and minimize disruptions.
  • Participate in new product development and ensure supplier readiness for new component introduction.
  • Validate supplier processes and first article inspections to ensure quality from the outset.
  • Conduct supplier audits to evaluate adherence to quality management systems, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions to address identified non-conformities.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to supplier quality, performance, and development activities.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to internal stakeholders on supplier performance and improvement initiatives.
