Boeing appoints new controller amid 34% overvaluation claims and MAX 7 certification

Boeing has appointed Ryan L. Shedd as Senior Vice President and Controller, effective after the upcoming 2026 Form 10-K filing. The aerospace manufacturer's shares currently trade at $214.20 amid mixed investor sentiment. The company's operating recovery shows progress but remains incomplete. Commercial Airplanes narrowed its operating margin from negative 5.1% to negative 2.7% on 171 deliveries versus 150 previously. Boeing is ramping 737 production to 47 aircraft monthly from 38 a year ago, targeting 52 next year. The FAA certified the MAX 7 today after nearly a decade. Valuation assessments diverge sharply. One analysis suggests Boeing is 33.9% overvalued at the current price, implying fair value of $160.01. However, a discounted cash flow model indicates shares trade 45.4% below an estimated value of $392.50.

AST SpaceMobile vs Boeing: Which high-flying stock is better for 2026?

AST SpaceMobile is building a space-based cellular network to connect standard smartphones, partnering with carriers like AT&T and Verizon to serve nearly 3 billion subscribers. The company reported revenue of $70.9 million in FY 2025, up from $4.4 million the previous year, but posted a net loss of $342 million. Free cash flow was negative $1.1 billion as it invests in manufacturing and launch capabilities. The company reported net income of $2.2 billion, achieving a 2.5% net margin after posting negative margins previously. Archer Aviation acquires three Boeing businesses for 19.75% stake in exchange

Archer Aviation has agreed to acquire three Boeing businesses — Wisk Aero, Insitu, and SkyGrid — in exchange for newly issued Archer stock. When the deal closes, Boeing will receive a 19.75% stake in Archer's Class A shares. The acquisition significantly bolsters Archer's defense business. Insitu, a military-drone company, generates over $200 million in annual revenue, compared to Archer's $300,000 in 2025. Wisk has completed more than 1,700 eVTOL flight tests, whilst SkyGrid provides air traffic management. The deal diversifies Archer beyond its urban air taxi ambitions, though it comes at the cost of shareholder dilution. Boeing also holds two warrants that could cause further dilution. Archer's shares initially surged 25% on the news before settling to a 13% gain.
