The Job:
As a Quality Engineer, you’ll be part of our Industrial Team, team working as an on-site employee. You’ll get to:
• Utilizes Quality Core tools/problem solving tools (root cause, corrective action, preventive action, and automotive 8-D tools) identify area needs improvement, and respond to customer concerns as assigned by the Quality Manager. Completes and documents sample evaluations, and 8Ds as required.
• Review/Update Control Plans and PFMEA per customer complaints and to reflect any current process and RPN changes.
• Leads/participate in regular quality cadence meeting, present quality data, and follow-up with assigned action items for Supervisors and other Functional groups.
• Responds to customer complaints through the internal CAR software, and communicate quality improvements back to customers and internally to QA manager, and other cross-functional teams.
• Participate as the Quality liaison during the daily APQP meetings to ensure that the new parts are reviewed/approved to ensure that all drawings, gages, routings are accurate for production of parts to customer specifications.
• Participates in quality audits (Process/Product/LPA) and initiate/sign off on engineering changes to existing parts (ECs).
• Monitors and provides guidance over all PPAP submission documentation from the initial quality planning meeting through customer PSW approval.
• Provides direction to all departments on the interpretation of customer/industry specifications. Revises internal procedures/work instructions as needed.
• Lead Customer complaint Corrective actions related to outside services, perform containment & co-ordinate Corrective and Preventive action plans with the suppliers to ensure they are completed on-time and customers get all the information they require.
• Initiate customer return process (RMA) and follow through the process to evaluate best follow-up actions on the returned parts and close the loop in the ERP system.

- B.S. Degree in Engineering, and/or equivalent quality engineering experience in the
manufacturing of fasteners, to be determined by management. - Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of fastener manufacturing and fastener specifications.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic statistical quality tools (SPC, capability studies, histograms, R&R, root cause analysis, corrective action process) and 8D problem solving techniques.
- Practical understanding of ISO/IATF16949, ISO14001 and PPAP requirements.
- Experience with the Kaizen continuous improvement, 6- Sigma, 5s of manufacturing and quality processes.
