Requirements
  • Experience managing high-value projects of £5 million or more, or equivalent high-level exposure.
  • An Association for Project Management Project Professional Qualification, or progress toward obtaining one, is ideally required.
  • A degree in a related field or an engineering degree, or significant industry experience.
  • Experience executing similar projects.
  • At least five years of project management experience for external candidates.
  • High-level stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing conflicts and priorities.
  • Experience in project finance, commercial activities, quality, supply chain, and trade compliance.
  • Experience defining and delivering programme and business-critical success factors.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring.
  • Significant customer engagement experience.
  • Ability to work in the United Kingdom without restrictions under UK national law.
  • Willingness and ability to successfully undertake the appropriate level of UK National Security Vetting.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and control high-value and complex projects and programmes in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Apply Product Lifecycle Management concepts within a product design and development business.
  • Create work breakdown structures, organizational breakdown structures, and product breakdown structures using scheduling techniques.
  • Create, maintain, and report project schedules in Microsoft Project, including integrated master schedules across multiple projects in a programme or portfolio.
  • Manage project resource demands across multiple projects, a programme, or a portfolio.
  • Define, manage, and control work packages and assignments.
  • Manage subcontracts and generate subcontract statements of work.
  • Deploy issue, risk, and opportunity management strategies and techniques, including schedule and cost risk analysis.
  • Use enterprise resource planning systems such as IFS.
  • Collate project data and support reporting that meets business governance requirements.
  • Ensure projects within the programme align with overall business objectives.
  • Oversee the entire programme or critical phases and ensure interconnected parts work together.
  • Focus on long-term strategic benefits in addition to project deliverables.
  • Manage programme-level budgets and resources.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for multiple projects and their managers.
  • Ensure overall programme success and smooth operation toward organizational goals.
  • Act as delegated authority for programmes when requested.
  • Create, maintain, and communicate project plans and technical documents reflecting progress and planned activities for internal and customer deliverables.
  • Provide a monthly project report in the designated format, including accurate cost information.
  • Ensure project non-conformances are regularly reviewed and have timely closure plans.
