Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, or technical discipline with minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC, Midas and DOD gas detectors.
  • Experience in facility/plant engineering and fire life safety equipment (i.e., FAS, FPS, HPM, TGM, Leak Detection).
  • Knowledge and application of codes and standards as they pertain to Life Safety NFPA 1 Fire Code: NFPA 70 (NEC) and electrical design requirements / NFPA 72 Fire Alarm and Signaling Code: NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, NFPA 400 Hazardous Materials Code, ICC, IBC and IFC.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluates and enhances fire, life safety, liquid leak, and toxic gas PLC monitoring systems (TGMS) to ensure readiness and compliance.
  • Provides RFI responses, reviews vendor equipment and contractor design submittals, and performs field design verification for installed equipment.
  • Serves as the technical expert and works within a commissioning team to perform site acceptance testing and start-up and commissioning.
  • Develops and maintains site life safety system maintenance records, inspection reports and procedures. Provides direction to maintenance staff during preventative maintenance activities.
  • Coordinates with vendors as needed to perform preventive maintenance on life safety systems equipment.
  • Assists local officials with routine testing of fire and life safety systems.
  • Serves as single point of contact for interface with AJH and site insurance provider.

  • Industry certifications from NFPA, NICET, or equivalent preferred.
