Requirements
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Applicants must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Applicants must have worked as an instructor at another ski area.
  • Applicants must have experience working with students of various ages, skill levels, and group sizes.
  • Applicants must have intermediate or higher skiing or snowboarding skills.
  • Applicants must submit a resume during the application process.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety and learning of students during lessons.
  • Teach students of all ages.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, resort staff, and guests.
  • Participate in continuing education covering teaching tactics, sliding skills, and people skills.
  • Perform other duties related to the daily operation of the Snowsports School.
  • Work outdoors in the winter mountain environment.
  • Work in a physically strenuous and mentally demanding position for the full operating season.
  • Complete mandatory paid training and additional training before teaching independently.
  • Work assigned weekend, holiday, powder-morning, full-time, or part-time schedules as applicable.
  • Teach assigned afterschool programs and multi-week programs as applicable.
  • Wear the Brighton uniform, black pants, nametag, and helmet while working.
  • Use a personal phone to communicate, view schedules, contact guests, and approve daily timesheets.
  • Complete digital report cards for each student.
Desired Qualifications
  • PSIA or AASI certification is a plus but is not required.
  • A growth mindset and openness to learning and feedback are preferred.
