Prepares and maintains tax records, returns, reports and other related materials. Participates in the development and implementation of tax strategy. Devises legal means to minimize tax liability using thorough knowledge of tax laws and regulations. Recommends alternative tax treatments to alleviate or reduce tax burden Analyzes existing and upcoming tax legislation (federal, state, local and foreign).
- Assist with supporting the business departments with national company tax issues by reviewing double taxation agreements, tax calculations etc.
- Assist with supporting the accounting department with basic tax issues in the monthly and quarterly closing process, such as tax accounting and tax calculations, and the yearly tax returns
- Assist with conducting basic sensitivity analysis and tax modeling to optimize tax liabilities.
- Assist with conducting basic tax research using RIA tax research software.
- Assist with the administrative aspect of managing tax software providers.
- Education Required: Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, tax or equivalent
- Experience Required: At least 1 year
- Special Qualifications: CPA or advanced degree desirable
