  • Active CBP Background Investigation (BI) or Top Secret clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance.
  • 12+ years of experience with Customs and Border Protection.
  • Degree in electronics, telecommunications, or a related field or equivalent military or law enforcement training.
  • Experience with various border security technologies; knowledge of best practices related to deployment of border security technologies.
  • Understanding of the geographical and environmental conditions and challenges related to deployment areas and techniques for adapting to these conditions.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing border technology use and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities
  • Execute liaison activities across the nation serving as a point-of-contact for local USBP operations related to mission focused technology.
  • Arrange and assure delivery of essential training ensuring all operational personnel are adequately skilled and prepared.
  • Provide both remote and in-person support (“reach-back services”) to USBP sectors and stations during technology refreshes, modernization, and enhancement initiatives.
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and participate in site visits in collaboration with sector Points of Contact (POCs), ensuring sector requirements are assessed, communicated, and resources deployed effectively.
  • Collect operational feedback, document best practices, and submit reports on training, asset deployments, and operational issues to various levels of leadership.
  • Oversee and support the integration, deployment, and fielding of new technologies, bridging communication between sectors and program management.
  • Ensure timely resolution of sector issues, communicating resolutions and pertinent information to various stakeholders for inclusion in briefings and notifications.
  • Facilitate direct communication and collaboration between USBP sectors, headquarters, and the central program office, supporting process improvements and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Maintain currency on the types and abilities of sensors in support of border security operations.
  • Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance, including alignment, inspection, and testing of sensors.
  • Provide technical assistance during the operation of Unmanned Ground Sensors (UGS).
  • Provide technical support and training to team members on UGS operations and maintenance.
  • Ensure all activities comply with safety protocols and operational guidelines.
  • Maintain detailed records of sensor deployments, maintenance activities, and system performance.
  • Maintain diagnostic and operational tools, support, and test equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members to plan and execute sensor deployment missions.
  • Coordinate with specific Customs and Border Protection offices and Department of Homeland Security officials to ensure alignment with operational objectives, collect operational feedback, and document requirements; ensure appropriate informational collaboration and reporting.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new UGS technologies and strategies.
  • Assist with other United States Government duties in collaboration with USBP personnel.
