- Provide and document direct nursing care for assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
- Assist with patient care by executing and administering treatments and procedures directed by the supervisor.
- Report patient issues and concerns to the supervisor and other staff.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, guests, family members, and co-workers to support a quality patient experience.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including charts, schedules, procedures, and medication or treatment history.
- Maintain a safe environment for care.
- Educate patients and family members in accordance with the established plan of care.
- Perform IV therapy in an expanded role in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Function as a preceptor in accordance with University of Mississippi Medical Center guidelines.
- Serve on at least one nursing council, hospital or medical center committee, task force, or project team to improve patient care or the work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
