  • LPN certified in IV therapy.
  • Valid Licensed Practical Nurse license.
  • Knowledge of the scope of licensed practical nursing.
  • Ability to delegate to nursing support staff.

  • Ability to meet the stated physical and environmental demands, including frequent lifting and carrying of more than 100 pounds, frequent climbing, crawling, crouching or stooping, constant pushing or pulling, standing, twisting, and walking.
Responsibilities
  • Provide and document direct nursing care for assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
  • Assist with patient care by executing and administering treatments and procedures directed by the supervisor.
  • Report patient issues and concerns to the supervisor and other staff.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, guests, family members, and co-workers to support a quality patient experience.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including charts, schedules, procedures, and medication or treatment history.
  • Maintain a safe environment for care.
  • Educate patients and family members in accordance with the established plan of care.
  • Perform IV therapy in an expanded role in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Function as a preceptor in accordance with University of Mississippi Medical Center guidelines.
  • Serve on at least one nursing council, hospital or medical center committee, task force, or project team to improve patient care or the work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
