Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong technical expertise, work ethic, and passion for driving innovation through automation.
  • Successful management of projects and processes involving multiple manufacturing areas or plants.
  • Demonstrated ownership and attention to detail in project execution as well as initiative and self-motivation for learning and progressing projects to completion.
  • Experience in a wide range of engineering skills related to manufacturing including: 3D printing, Manual and CNC machining methods, 3D CAD modeling (Autodesk Inventor) and 2D CAD drawings for manufacturing with strong GD&T understanding.
  • 5 years or more experience working in a manufacturing facility (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with designing, fabricating, and implementing mechanical or electrical systems (preferred).
Responsibilities
  • Identify new technologies to develop and implement automated manufacturing solutions related to crystal growth, optical fabrication, and thin film coating.
  • Improve processes to enhance cost-efficiency, quality, speed, agility, and consistency.
  • Lead improvement projects through all phases, including conceptualization, planning, design, manufacturing, in-house testing, documentation, and ongoing support.
  • Work closely with technicians, department engineers, and supervisors to ensure project success.
  • Further refine project scope and objectives under general guidance, exercising latitude in determining technical objectives of assigned projects.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on process failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee capital equipment purchases when necessary, ensuring proper qualification, and develop preventative maintenance procedures.
